July 24

Cream ! Join us at 1:30 and
learn about the Freedom Quilts
from Barb Samulowitz. Ice
cream, toppings, and beverages
will be provided after Barb's presentation. If you'd like cake or cookies to add to the
social experience, please feel free to bring your favorite.

Favorite Food Potluck at noon
August 21
(Do you suppose we'll just have desserts??) Classics will supply
your table service and beverages. How many baby
showers have you attended over the years? Some
babies in the community are less fortunate. There is
always a need for blankets, diapers, bibs, booties, sleepers
and bottles. Katie Mehne, Exec. Director of We
Care Pregnancy Center, will speak about the goals of
this worthwhile organization. All of the nursery items
will be donated to We Care. RSVP by August 18.
Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head
September 17
Bring a
baked potato (baked at home and wrapped in foil) and
your favorite photos or mementoes from a vacation. At
noon, different toppings for the baked potatoes will be
provided, as well as beverages and desserts. At one
p.m. we'll hear about your favorite vacation spot.

German Fest Potluck at noon
October 16
Brats,
sauerkraut, red cabbage, German potato salad, German
chocolate cake! Let's have all the good German food we
can find! The entertainment will have a special umpa
sound!

Day Trips
One Day Mystery Trip
August 13
It's really debatable
whether we should give you any clues for this trip.
If you haven't been on a Mystery Trip before, why not
start with just a one day trip. We try to include something
of interest for everyone. Cost of the trip is $41 per
person. This includes transportation, driver tip, all
activities and lunch.

How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying at The Fireside, Fort Atkinson, WI
September 11
It's about business, but that's not all! This Pulitzer Prize winning fable from the creators of the unforgettable GUYS AND DOLLS is a tuneful, delightful, fastmoving musical comedy about the nutty goings-on at the office. Follow the brave young hero as he fights his way up the corporate ladder with the help of his wits, his faithful and loving secretary, and one little rulebook. The Fireside will offer an entrée of Baked Boneless Pork Chop served with Herbed Stuffing. Dessert (always the best!) will be Kevin's Original Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting and Rum Raisin Ice Cream. A diabetic substitute is offered, just let us know. Cost of the trip is $80; Activity level 3

Late Night Catechism at the Copley Theatre, Aurora, IL
November 2
This hilarious comedy will
introduce you to Sister. Sister is here to brush up your
religious doctrine in order to be a godparent. She is
also here because "Father Murphy didn't want to miss
his poker night," and Sister is going to teach this class
her way tonight. It really doesn't matter if you're a
Catholic school alumnus, a practicing Catholic or a
non-Catholic. Sister has something for all of you!
This performance has audience interaction and has had
rave reviews.
We will enjoy a 2:00 PM matinee performance and
then travel to the Fireside Grille in Sugar Grove for our
evening meal. We have a choice of entree: Half Fire
Grilled Chicken, 8 oz. Sirloin Steak, Sauteed Tilapia or
French Onion Meatloaf. All accompanied with salad,
bread & butter, vegetables, mashed potatoes and a
chocolate ice cream sundae! Cost of the trip is $65.

Extended Trips
Branson, MO
September 29 - October 3
Cost is
$739 for double occupancy, $789 for single occupancy,
$729 for triple occupancy, and $709 for quad occupancy.
Trip price includes deluxe motor coach transportation,
experienced driver, luxurious hotel accommodations,
luggage handling, 9 meals, tax, tip and gratuities,
and two Resource Bank escorts.
We'll be in staying in the luxury of The Grand Plaza
Hotel, a full service hotel, with a full hot/cold Deluxe
Continental daily breakfast. The hotel also includes an
indoor/outdoor pool and exercise room. The 5 shows
and 5 attractions include: The Rankin Brothers, Six
Brothers; Showboat Branson Belle & Variety Show;
Silver Dollar City and the Festival of American Music;
The Twelve Irish Tenors; Buck Trent; the new Branson
Landing; and the production of Noah at the Sight and
Sound Theatre. We will be experiencing the Ozark Hills
on a guided tram tour throughout Dogwood Canyon. We
will see wildlife galore, including buffalo, bison, trout
ponds, waterfalls, Indian caves and much more.

New Year's Eve Celebration and Show
December 31, 2008 - January 1, 2009
Come and join us for an
afternoon of fun at the Ho-Chunk Casino or a relaxing
time pool-side at the hotel before a night of Sparkling
Entertainment and Ringing in the New Year Broadway
Style at Broadway Dinner Theatre in Wisconsin Dells!!!
Elvis impersonator Stephen Freeman will perform all
stages of Elvis's career in the most sincere and authentic
way imaginable. Elvis fans should not miss this wonderful
tribute to the KING OF ROCK-N-ROLL! And for
the first time ever, guests are invited to dance the night
away after the show with a champagne toast to ring in
the New Year! If you are interested in returning to the
casino for more New Year gaming excitement there will
be a shuttle available all night. After a continental breakfast
on January 1, 2009, we'll head home for a day of
football games, naps and snacks!

Seminar
AARP Driver Safety Course presented by Vera Rimnac.
July 30 & 31
This two day course is a driver refresher
class at the cost of $10 per person. This will be held
from 12:30 - 4:30 both days. Your participation is
required to receive a certificate of completion. This
class is not limited to Classics members only; anyone
may attend over the age of 55. Please call 815-748-1614
to reserve your spot. You may be entitled to a discount
on your auto insurance by completing this course.
Check with your Insurance Carrier to see if you qualify.

Birthday Parties
August 28
1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
We will celebrate August, September, and October birthdays in the
Conference Center located in the lower level at the
Bethany Road Branch. If you missed your birthday celebration
this year with us, please call and reserve a spot
for yourself and a guest! We serve cake and ice cream,
and you receive a gift from the Classics.
