Which IRA should I choose?

How the Roth IRA stacks up next to a Traditional IRA depends on many factors, including whether your contributions to a Traditional IRA are tax deductible.

If you are eligible to choose between the Roth IRA and the Traditional Deductible IRA, consider choosing the Roth IRA unless:

1. You need the immediate tax savings of the Traditional Deductible IRA
2. You expect to be in a significantly lower tax bracket in retirement
3. You need your money in less than five years and will be over age 59 1/2 at withdrawal

Roth Conversion IRA

Converting from a Traditional IRA offers you the opportunity to take advantage of the federal income-tax-free growth available in the Roth IRA.
