We can help you choose and invest in the IRA that is right for you.
Potentially provides the most benefit for the most people, especially those with long time horizons.
Works well if you think you’ll be in a much lower tax bracket in retirement or your time frame is short before retirement.
Which IRA should I choose?
How the Roth IRA stacks up next to a Traditional IRA depends on many factors, including whether your contributions to a Traditional IRA are tax deductible. If you are eligible to choose between the Roth IRA and the Traditional Deductible IRA, consider choosing the Roth IRA unless:
- You need the immediate tax savings of the Traditional Deductible IRA
- You expect to be in a significantly lower tax bracket in retirement
- You need your money in less than five years and will be over age 59 1/2 at withdrawal
Roth Conversion IRA
Converting from a Traditional IRA offers you the opportunity to take advantage of the federal income-tax-free growth available in the Roth IRA. Ask one of our investment representatives or your tax advisors if a Roth IRA conversion is appropriate for your financial plan. Neither Cetera, nor any of its representatives may give tax advice.
Remember! Distributions taken prior to age 59 1/2 are subject to 10% penalty and/or taxes.
