Bouquets, Planters, & Lunch!
Wednesday, June 14th, Somonauk Branch
Activity Level 1 - Experience the fun of home planting at our Somonauk Branch. Angie, representing Ivy Oaks Floral, will demonstrate the art of crafting a planter perfect for your porch or kitchen window. Not only that, but Angie will also guide us in assembling a stunning flower bouquet. Wild Carrot Cooking of Waterman will be on hand, preparing delectable lunchboxes for the day’s attendees. Both the handcrafted herb planter and the exquisite bouquet arrangement will be up for grabs in our raffle! Doors open at 11:30. Event begins at noon. RSVP by June 10th. Wine Tasting & Woodcraft with Chelsea McGee
Tuesday, June 27th, Genoa Branch
Activity Level 1 - Invite a friend and join us in our newly remodeled Community Room at the Genoa Branch. Prairie State Winery will showcase five of their top-selling wines for tasting, along with a fascinating presentation about their winemaking process. Following the wine tasting, we’ll transition into a Wood Sign Painting Party, hosted by Chelsea McGhee Studios. You can pick a design that resonates with you, and Chelsea will provide a custom stencil for you to paint. No prior experience is needed as Chelsea will guide you through each step. Customize your sign with the colors that best suit your home decor or make it a personalized gift! Light appetizers and drinks will be served. Wood board and paint will be provided. Doors open at 1:30. Event begins at 2:00. RSVP by June 17th. Members: $50 • Guests: $55

Autumn Flavors – Ingredients for Healthy Living
Thursday, September 7th, Shabbona
Activity Level 1 - You are invited to an enriching lunchtime gathering, showcasing ways to make health-conscious choices that both conserve your time and economize your spending. Our knowledgeable speaker for the day, Rachel Koroscik, a Healthy Culinary Instructor, will guide you through this enlightening presentation. Alongside the talk, you’ll get to savor a variety of tastings and take home some hand-picked recipes. To complement the learning experience, delicious lunch boxes, meticulously prepared by Wild Carrot Cooking, will be served. Payment is due at the time of registration. Doors open at 11:30. Treehouse Pie Company

Activity Level 1 - Christy Sharp, a culinary maestro from Kishwaukee College and the proud owner of Treehouse Pie Company, will be sharing her pie-making wizardry with us.  Renowned for delighting major corporations with her mouth-watering pies, now it’s your chance to experience the magic - enhanced by a selection of fine wine and appetizers. Prepare to be spellbound as Christy provides a captivating live demonstration of the art of pie-making. She will bring her specially prepared pie dough, pulling you into the process and engaging all your senses. But that’s not all! Amidst the ambiance of appetizing delights, you’ll have the unique opportunity to sample some of her exquisite creations. This event offers the perfect occasion to ask Christy all your pie-related questions. Whether you’re a baking enthusiast or a novice, there’s always something new to learn.  From innovative techniques to secrets of the perfect crust, you’ll come away with newfound knowledge, inspiration, and a taste of culinary excellence. Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington

Activity Level 2 - The Sanfilippo “Place de la Musique” is a globally recognized wonder, home to an extraordinary collection of meticulously restored antiques and music machines.  This architectural marvel boasts a wide array of stunning chandeliers and art glass, each piece echoing a bygone era’s elegance.  But the crown jewels of the collection are undoubtedly the world’s largest restored theatre pipe organ, a breathtaking instrument both in size and sound, and an incredibly ornate European salon carousel, widely regarded as the most spectacular in existence. This unique combination of art, history, and music at the Sanfilippo estate offers visitors an immersive journey into the past, making it a must-visit for enthusiasts around the world. Murder Mystery!
Wednesday, October 18th
Activity Level 3 - Join us for an exhilarating event, “Murder Mystery in the Hangar”, where thrill and entertainment are guaranteed. We will travel to Hangar Two in Glenview, where you will have the opportunity to become a detective for the day and solve the enthralling “Murder in the Hangar”. This event is steeped in a captivating Gangster Theme, promising an afternoon of intrigue and suspense.  While you’re unraveling the mystery, indulge in a fabulous lunch and explore a curated selection of beers in our tasting session. Don your detective hat and dive into this immersive experience of suspense, good food, and great company! After, we will visit the unique ABT Electronics store, which is much more than a typical electronics and appliance retailer.  The store spans 100,000 square feet and features an array of unique attractions. These include a 7,500-gallon aquarium that’s maintained by a fulltime marine biologist, a “Time Boutique” with a wide range of luxury watches, and even a “Connect Store” showcasing mobile technology. The store also has a recycling center, an atrium with a fountain, and a cookie shop. It’s not unusual for customers to spend hours browsing the store and enjoying the various exhibits. Despite being primarily an electronics store, it has something for nearly everyone, making it a unique destination that transcends the traditional shopping experience. Activity Level 6 - This five-day trip features both the Canadian and American sides of the mighty Niagara Falls! Venture on the famous Maid of the Mist, and see the Cave of the Winds. Other amazing experiences include the Whirlpool Aero Car (a cable car over the falls), the town of Niagara On the Lake, the Erie Canal and Buffalo River Cruise, Ice Wine Tasting, and much more! Classics Travel Policies

Trip Confirmation Notice

Classics sends out a confirmation reminder notice of payment due date, pickup time and location along with any other information regarding each trip at least two weeks prior to departure date for all trips.

Trip Cancellation Policy for Day Trips

When scheduling day trips, most vendors require full payment when booking the event. We request that full payment for a day trip be made 2 weeks in advance. If you have to cancel a trip and we can fill your space from a waiting list, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel the trip after your payment is made, we will reimburse you when possible.

Trip Cancellation Policy for Extended Trips

Cancellation policies on extended trips are outlined by respective tour companies as stated in their trip brochure. Trip Travel Insurance is always a wise investment when going on extended trips.

Activity Levels

The higher the Activity Level number, the more walking involved. All activities are in the HearthStone Center unless otherwise stated.

Activity Level 1: Very little walking, no stairs.
Activity Level 2: A little walking, possible stairs.
Activity Level 3: Walking, getting on and off the coach, and possible stairs.
Activity Level 4: Walking, getting on and off the coach several times and stairs on the trip.
Activity Level 5: Walking distances which might be on non-flat surfaces, getting on and off the coach multiple times, and stairs.
Activity Level 6: All of the above, including multiple flights of stairs and activities requiring a higher level of stamina.
