Entertaining Events in the Community Rooms

2023 Trip Presentation
September 15 at HearthStone*; September 16 in Somonauk

Activity Level 1- Join us for a special preview of the upcoming trips we have planned for next year! The Presentations will be at 1:00 p.m. on both days.

 

Lake Shabbona Homecoming Hayride!
October 1, 2022

Activity Level 2 - Please come and join us on this fun day at Lake Shabbona! Join us at 3:00 P.M. for live music with the group Drift Away, and experience something you might have never done: a pontoon boat hayride! After, a dinner buffet will be served from Pokanoka’s Dockside Cafe. Get your fall photo taken there, as well! Plus, you could win a $1,000 trip voucher to any Classics trip taken in 2023! You must be present to win! Transportation will be on your own. Payment is due upon registration. RSVP by September 21st. (If inclement weather, the alternate date is October 2nd.) Minimum of 20 required. Members and Guests: $45.00

 

Ladies Night Out!

Activity Level 1 - Ladies! Do you need a night out with your friends, sisters, mother, daughters, or female co-workers? Then we have what you are looking for! We have prepared a special evening of pampering, relaxation, and laughter, just for you! Our evening will include facials, massages, a fashion show, door prizes, shopping, drinks, appetizers, and did we mention shopping??! Payment is due upon registration. RSVP by October 26th. Classics Exclusive Day Trips

Laverne and Shirley’s Tour of Milwaukee!
Wednesday, September 14, 2022

Activity Level 3 - If you are a fan of Laverne and Shirley you will appreciate seeing Milwaukee City Hall which was the opening shot of the show. See Polish Flats and Shotz Brewery, the brewery that made Milwaukee famous! We will even make a stop to see the bronze statue of the “Fonz,” the man that made Laverne’s heart throb. Of course, you know that Laverne’s father made the best pizza in Milwaukee, so pizza lunch is included. Our day in Milwaukee will also include a game of mini-bowling and more. Payment is due upon registration. RSVP by September 1st. Members: $178.00 • Guests: $195.00

 

Classics Exclusive Extended Trips

From Wisconsin to Michigan Across the Lake!
Wednesday, September 20 - 23, 2022

Activity Level 4 - Join us aboard Windstar Coaches as we take a 3-night, 4-day trip across Lake Michigan. On this journey, our first stop will be Racine, with a guided tour of SC Johnson, Larsen’s Bakery, and lunch at Reefpoint. We will then have an overnight stay at Marriott in downtown Milwaukee. Dinner will be at Mo’s Irish Pub, within walking distance from the hotel. On the next day, we will enjoy a self-guided tour of Villa Terrance, then in the afternoon we will board the ferry S.S. Badger for the four-hour trip across the lake. That night we will stay in Ludington, Michigan. On our way to Traverse City, we will travel to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. After a drive through miles of sandy beaches, lush forests, and clear inland lakes, we will stop at Verterras Winery and stay overnight in Traverse City. Christmas With the Boston Pops, the Nutcracker Ballet, and the
Newport Mansions Decorated for Christmas
December 7 - 11, 2022

Activity Level 6 - Christmas in Boston turns the city into a festive wonderland of lights, spectacular decorations, and special holiday music. The glitter of gold and the sparkle of silver will dazzle you as you tour three magnificent mansions. Visit the Boston Opera House and see Tchaikovsky’s spectacular Nutcracker Ballet, plus the world-famous Boston Pops! Please contact Classics for brochure, price, and availability! Deposit of $500.00 is due upon registration. RSVP by August 25th.

Classics Travel Policies

Trip Confirmation Notice

Classics sends out a confirmation reminder notice of payment due date, pickup time and location along with any other information regarding each trip at least two weeks prior to departure date for all trips.

Trip Cancellation Policy for Day Trips

When scheduling day trips, most vendors require full payment when booking the event. We request that full payment for a day trip be made 2 weeks in advance. If you have to cancel a trip and we can fill your space from a waiting list, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel the trip after your payment is made, we will reimburse you when possible.

Trip Cancellation Policy for Extended Trips

Cancellation policies on extended trips are outlined by respective tour companies as stated in their trip brochure. Trip Travel Insurance is always a wise investment when going on extended trips.

Activity Levels

The higher the Activity Level number, the more walking involved. All activities are in the HearthStone Center unless otherwise stated.

Activity Level 1: Very little walking, no stairs.
Activity Level 2: A little walking, possible stairs.
Activity Level 3: Walking, getting on and off the coach, and possible stairs.
Activity Level 4: Walking, getting on and off the coach several times and stairs on the trip.
Activity Level 5: Walking distances which might be on non-flat surfaces, getting on and off the coach multiple times, and stairs.
Activity Level 6: All of the above, including multiple flights of stairs and activities requiring a higher level of stamina.
