Antique Road Show with Steve Almburg
Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, Hearthstone Center*
Activity Level Low - Since the Antique Road Show in Leland drew such a strong response, we’ve decided to host another session at HearthStone!  The event will take place at noon (doors open at 11:30 a.m.).  For this session, we will be limiting participation to one item per person with a maximum of 50 people. If you plan to present an item, please email a photo of it to the Classics Department no later than February 1st.  Not bringing an item? You’re still welcome to join us!  RSVP by February 1st.  Members: $15 • Guests: $16

 

Jen Bristow of Fresh
Jewelry Company
Wed., March 11, Kaneville Branch
Activity Level Low - When you really want to make a loved one smile ear to ear, nothing does the trick quite like fresh flowers.  But what if your gift could last forever? That’s exactly what Jen Bristow, co-founder of Fresh Jewelry Company set out to accomplish when she created her line of real flower jewelry. Her truly original pieces capture the natural beauty of fresh buds and freeze them in time.  Jen Bristow will talk more about the techniques used to create these beautiful pieces of jewelry.  Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. with delicious dessert from the “Purple Store” in Kaneville and the presentation to start at 2:00 p.m.  RSVP by March 4.  Members $15 • Guests $16

 

Roots and Recipes
Thurs., March 19, Genoa Branch
Activity Level Low - Pull up a chair for a delightful afternoon of stories, discovery, and good food!  Lynn Buckner will join us in the Genoa Branch Community Room to guide a conversation about family history and genealogy.  Bring what you already know about your family’s story and be ready to learn more about how you can begin, or continue, your own family tree research.  We’ll also take time to swap favorite family recipes, share traditions, and enjoy the memories behind the meals that have been passed down through the years.  To round out the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a delicious taco bar provided by Rivers’ Mexican Cantina & Grill.  Doors open at 11:30, and lunch will be available at noon.  RSVP by March 12.  Members: $16 • Guests: $18

 

Sweet Treats and B-I-N-G-O
Wed., April 8, Serena Township Building
Activity Level Low - You won’t want to miss out on a fun afternoon and fabulous prizes.  Sweet treats will be served from the Serena Café.  Doors open at 1:30 p.m. with Bingo to start at 2:00 p.m.  RSVP by April 1.  Members and Guests $10.

 

Ladies Night Out
Sat., April 18, HearthStone Center*
Activity Level Low - Ladies!  We are back with our most popular event!  We have prepared a special evening of pampering, relaxation and laughter just for you!  There will be some of our regular vendors and as well as some new vendors to check out.  Drinks and appetizers will be served, and door prizes will be given throughout the evening!  The fun begins at 5:00 p.m.!  Payment is due upon registration.  RSVP by March 28.  Members and Guests $25.

Nourishing Your Heart: Cooking and Connecting After Loss

Activity Level Low - This meaningful afternoon will focus on exploring how healing from grief often begins in familiar places, like gathering around the kitchen table.  Jo Cessna, local culinary instructor, will offer practical insight on navigating grief, honoring loss, and caring for emotional well-being, through thoughtful conversation and shared experiences.  Lunch is included.  Doors open at 11:30, and lunch will be available at noon.      RSVP by May 28.  Members $10 • Guests $12

St. Patrick’s Green Chicago River Cruise!

Activity Level Moderate - This special Chicago River cruise on the day after the river is dyed its famous shade of emerald green is an opportunity to get a front-row seat for the fascinating history and process behind this iconic event.  The river also provides unbeatable views of the city’s architecture, the festive atmosphere on the riverbanks, and the magic of the moment.  Plus, we will stop at Peggy Kinnane’s Irish Restaurant and Pub in Arlington Heights for a delicious meal!  Space is limited!  RSVP by February 10.  Price includes transportation, cruise, lunch, and tips.  Members: $125 • Guests: $137

 

Hidden Wonders and Timeless Design in Wisconsin

Activity Level Moderate - Enjoy a day exploring some of Wisconsin’s most fascinating natural, historical, and architectural treasures.  We’ll begin with a guided visit to Cave of the Mounds, where stunning underground formations create a truly unforgettable experience.  Next, we’ll travel to Mount Horeb for a guided tour of the Driftless Historium, offering insight into the unique history and culture of the Driftless Region. You’ll then enjoy lunch on your own, with time to explore local dining options.  In the afternoon, we’ll visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin, the iconic home and studio that showcases Wright’s vision and legacy.  We’ll end the day with a relaxing dinner at Bailey’s Run Vineyard before heading home.  RSVP by April 10.  Members: $229 • Guests: $251

 

Farm History, Heritage, and a Hearty Lunch!
Tues., May 12
Activity Level Low - Step back in time and enjoy a charming countryside outing as we visit Denny Rehn’s farm in rural Belvidere for a one-of-a-kind look at agricultural history.  Denny will personally guide us through his impressive and thoughtfully curated collection of agriculture-related artifacts and treasures, all cared for in his museum-like barn. You might have seen our article on Denny and his collection in the most recent issue of Your Resource For Living.  We’ll meet at the Kirkland Branch at 10:15 AM and follow each other to Denny’s farm, or you’re welcome to drive directly to the farm if that’s more convenient. The barn doors open at 11:00 AM, and after the tour, we’ll sit down to enjoy a delicious homemade lunch, graciously prepared and served by Denny right in the museum barn.  RSVP by May 1.  Members $25 • Guests $28

 

Lake Geneva Cruise and Black Point Estate Tour

Activity Level Moderate - Share a beautiful day in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, starting with a relaxing lunch cruise, where you’ll take in stunning lake views while enjoying a delicious meal on the water.  After the cruise, we’ll step back in time with a guided tour of the historic Black Point Estate, a magnificent lakeside mansion rich with stories, architecture, and charm.  Following our scheduled activities, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace—take a leisurely stroll along the lakefront, browse the downtown shops, or stop for a sweet treat or coffee before we head home.  RSVP by May 1st.  Members: $166 • Guests: $182

Classics Travel Policies

Trip Confirmation Notice

Classics sends out a confirmation reminder notice of payment due date, pickup time and location along with any other information regarding each trip at least two weeks prior to departure date for all trips.

Trip Cancellation Policy for Day Trips

When scheduling day trips, most vendors require full payment when booking the event. We request that full payment for a day trip be made 2 weeks in advance. If you have to cancel a trip and we can fill your space from a waiting list, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel the trip after your payment is made, we will reimburse you when possible.

Trip Cancellation Policy for Extended Trips

Cancellation policies on extended trips are outlined by respective tour companies as stated in their trip brochure. Trip Travel Insurance is always a wise investment when going on extended trips.

Activity Levels

Activity Level Low: Relaxed pace, minimum walking and level ground, ample time to rest
Activity Level Moderate: Low-key movement, possibly on and off a bus, walking on uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and occasional periods of standing
Activity Level High: Designed for travelers who can comfortably walk longer distances, uneven terrains, long periods of standing, multiple bus boardings, and possible flights with transfers
